The braces installed at Uinta Orthodontics will effectively realign your teeth for a more functional mouth and an appealing smile. While your braces are designed to be durable there are some foods, and bad habits that can pose a threat, to the overall integrity of the braces.

If a wire, bracket or other part of your braces hardware comes loose or is damaged, it could significantly increase the amount of time you need to wear braces. Should something happen, you need to see Uinta Orthodontics as soon as possible to address the problem.
In the interim, there are a few things you can do to help manage the problem, and minimize complications.

When Uinta Orthodontics first installed your braces you were given a piece of special orthodontic wax. You can try to secure a broken wire or loose bracket inside the orthodontic wax to protect your mouth. If you don’t have the wax handy, you can make do in a pinch with a pencil eraser. If you have a metal band come off don’t try to put it back on.

It’s no unheard of for a spacer to come loose or even fall out shortly before your next adjustment session. If this happens, you should call Uinta Orthodontics to assess the situation. Many times the solution is simply to move up your next schedule adjustment.

If some part of your braces is damaged, bent, or loose, you need to call Uinta Orthodontics at (307) 789-8742 as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.
